5G test solution for the first time using OTA measurement
01-December-2016 10:02
Rohde & Schwarz's NRPM OTA power measurement solution is the first solution to test 5G and wireless gigabit network component power using an over-the-air (OTA) approach. This solution allows the R & D and production end users to calibrate the output power of the DUT antenna port and test the beamforming function.
More and more base stations, wireless access points, wireless devices and radio frequency modules, the use of phase array antenna to transmit 5G and wireless gigabit network RF signal. Beamforming technology, mainly used to control the radiation direction of the transmitting antenna, and thus improve the maximum power receiver. mbrs360t3
R & S's NRPM OTA power measurement solution allows users to calibrate the output power of the DUT antenna port and test beamforming capabilities with its compact, compact measurement device. This test scheme can be used in the 27.5 GHz to 75 GHz band, covering the 28 GHz band in the current 5G popular candidate band, the 55 GHz to 66 GHz band in IEEE802.11ad and the band above the IEEE802.11ay 66 GHz band.
This NRPM OTA power measurement solution consists of two core components: an antenna module and a triple channel power sense module. The R & S NRPM A66 antenna module is a simple, polarized Vivaldi antenna with a built-in diode detector for power measurement with a relative power measurement accuracy of more than 0.2 dB. ls7183
In addition, since power measurements are made directly on the antenna, the user does not need an additional RF cable, thus reducing the complexity of compensating cable wear. Using a single antenna module, you can check the output power of the object under test, by the spatial distribution of the multi-antenna module, you can test the analyte beamforming function.
